Review of Cocosand Hotel in Mui Ne, Vietnam

By

Where We Slept is our hotel roundup from our time on the road. We hope it helps budget travelers see how far their dollar can go--even though sometimes, it's not far enough!

There are tons of choices along the crowded beachfront of Mui Ne, but we stayed at Cocosand, which wasn't on the beach side of the road.

What Cocosand offered was the three of us a huge bungalow for $15. The biggest problem was the smell of fish sauce that permeated the room and somehow got into my pack cover. Mui Ne makes a ton of fish sauce, but I honestly have no idea why my pack cover attracted the smell as much as it did. I couldn't get it out for weeks!

The biggest plus of Cocosand was the location—central to all the good bars and restaurants. The room itself was big and spacious and the grounds of the guesthouse were pretty nice. No breakfast though.
